470 - Killerbee vs. Kisame
Sakura appears offended by Naruto’s assertion that she is
lying when she said she loved him. Naruto tries to explain
that it just feels strange that she would come all the way to the Land
of Iron to tell him this, but Sakura only gets more irritated because
she thinks Naruto is belittling her confession. Sakura tells Naruto
that she believes he is too obsessed with reaching Sasuke and is
putting himself at risk everyday, and that she is here to bring him
back to the village.
However, Naruto rebuttals that he is not only doing this
because of their promise, but that he is also doing this to save Sasuke
from himself. Naruto tries to explain Sasuke’s hate and the
reason for his recent actions, but Kakashi stops him when he is about
to mention what Madara had said. Since they cannot be sure
that Madara wasn’t lying about the truth behind the Uchiha
massacre, Kakashi has cautioned both Yamato and Naruto to keep that
information a secret for the time
being. Naruto reasserts to Sakura that he will try to save
Sasuke regardless of their promise, this causes Sakura to storm off in
anger followed by her team. When they are out of earshot, Sakura asks
Kiba to help her with their own search for Sasuke. Close by,
a clone of Sai’s is listening.
Meanwhile, the kages have disbanded and are off
to prepare for the coming war. On their way back home,
Kurotsuchi, one of the Tsuchikage’s guards, asks why they do not just
assassinate the Kyuubi and Hachibi hosts to deprive Madara of his goal;
at the same time, they would be weakening the military strength of the
Cloud and Leaf villages. But, the Tsuchikage, having been
influenced by Gaara’s words during the meeting, is adamant that they
will not do anything so underhanded this time.
Back at Killerbee’s location, Kisame has downed Punta the
giant racoon bear with his chakra absorbing sword, the
Samehada. Sabu the “enka ninja” jumps into the fight wielding
his giant axe. But before he and Kisame can clash, Killerbee
interrupts Kisame’s charge by throwing a lightning chakra
infused pencil at him. Kisame manages to duck in time but it
was a close call. Judging by the piercing power of just that
pencil, Kisame knows that even he won’t be able to survive a direct hit
from one of Killerbee’s lightning infused weapons.
Killerbee wastes no time and executes a pincer
attack by throwing a sword at Kisame from one side while charging in
with another sword from behind. The first sword hits Kisame’s
shoulder and he uses his sword to block Killerbee’s thrust; however,
both of Killerbee’s weapons had their chakra absorbed before they made
contact. Surprised, Killerbee activates his Bijuu shroud and attempts a
chakra charged head butt on Kisame, but even this attack is ineffective
as the Bijuu chakra is also absorbed. Realizing that Kisame’s
Samehada sword is absorbing his charka, Killerberr backs off.
Kisame unwraps his sword, revealing a spiky carapace with a shark’s
mouth at the tip. He tells Killerbee it’s been a while since
Samehada has feasted on such delicious chakra.
