MenuCHAPTER 407 - To Naruto 
Naruto, Shiho and Shikamaru have spent a good
while in the cryptography unit’s library trying to find some
clue hidden in Jiraiya’s code. Shikamaru gets a
little impatient and asks Naruto if he has thought of anything
yet. He is sure that Naruto is now the only one who holds the
knowledge to cracking Jiraiya’s message.
Naruto answers that the only thing
that’s been bothering him about the code is why everything in
the code is a number except the first one which is a katakana character
(think of katakana as a Japanese syllable, much like in the English
version, they’re combined to make whole words. See Wikipedia
for more info). Shikamaru and Shiho are astounded by this
insight and look closer for themselves. Indeed, the
first number which looks like a ‘9’ at first,
actually  resembles
the katakana ‘ta’ the way it is
written.A light bulb clicks in Shiho’s mind and she asks Naruto why he thinks it is a katakana character instead of a number. Naruto explains that Jiraiya often made him read his handwritten manuscripts for the book he was working on during their training. While reading them, Naruto noticed that Jiraiya’s ‘ta’s always looked liked ‘9’s. Shiho understands now and draws it out for everyone. By shortening and curving the second stroke when writing the ‘ta’ character, Jiraiya makes his look more like 
the number 9.Shikamaru thinks for a moment and realizes the clues must be in Jiraiya’s books. Shiho catches on too and says that the numbers must be line numbers, words or pages in the books Jiraiya has published. Shikamaru starts asking Naruto if he remembers which book Jiraiya was working on when Kakashi suddenly sticks his head inside from a window. He was coming to check up on their progress when he overheard their conversation. He holds up ‘Come Come Tactics’, Jiraiya’s most recent work which Naruto had given him upon his return from training. Shikamaru zeros in on the word ‘tactics’ and realizes that it must be the 
book
Jiraiya’s code is pointing them towards. Shiho points out that there are six more numbers after the ‘ta’ so the information must be contained in those six pages. She asks Kakashi to look up each of the pages corresponding to 31, 8, 106, 7 and 15 and then read out the first sentence to them. Kakashi suddenly gets nervous because the stuff in Jiraiya’s books are not exactly something one would want to say out loud. Naruto prods Kakashi to hurry up and tell them. After a moment, Shiho has all six sentences 
written down. Kakashi, on the other hand, looks like
he’s about to die from embarrassment. Shiho reads
out the first word in each sentence: “The Real One
Isn’t With Them.” Naruto is confused by
this message, but Kakashi suggests they get in contact with Fukasaku
right away since he was at the battle with Pein. Shiho asks if she can
come along, and shines with glee when Shikamaru tells her yes.In the Rain village, Madara, Konan and Pein sit down to a meeting. Madara asks why Pein is late, to which Pein responds he was delayed by Jiraiya. He says he can go hunt down the Nine-Tails anytime now. Madara suggests he go as soon as 
possible because the longer he waits, the more time the Leaf has to
prepare a plan. Konan points out that Pein is invincible and
will catch the Nine-Tails no mater what. Madara informs them
that Sasuke will be handling the Eight-Tails. Konan has her
doubts, but Madara assures her that Sasuke will succeed.
